CHARLESTON, W.Va. - The WV Writers, Inc. event, “The Many Paths to Publishing" panel, took place Sat., Jun. 19th, 2 pm thru 4 pm, at Taylor Books, 226 Capitol Street. Authors Michael Knost and Brian J. Hatcher represented Woodland Press at the event. Others appearing included Cathy Teets of Headline Books, Abby Freeland of WVU Press, and Cat Pleska of WV Writers, Inc. The activity, which was well attended, soon became standing room only for all who wanted to participate in the panel discussion.

BARBOURSVILLE, W.Va. - According to activity planners at Borders, at Huntington Mall, the bookstore will focus its attention on the importance of Mountain State storytellers and regional books this weekend through a variety of author appearances. The in-store event is being called West Virginia Author Weekend.

Woodland Press authors were featured at Vandalia Gathering

CHARLESTON, W.Va. - The 2010 Vandalia Gathering was held on Sat. and Sun., May 29th and 30th, at the State Capitol Complex. This year the event included several Woodland Press authors signing books at the West Virginia Book Company booth.

Writers participating included Robert and Miranda Walker, Michael Knost, Brian Hatcher, Ellen McCloud, and Geoffrey and Karin Fuller.

The annual event, held at the State Capitol Complex, focuses on Mountain State artisans, and includes exceptional musicians, storytellers, square-dancers and cloggers.
