BARBOURSVILLE, W.Va. – This weekend Drug Emporium, which promotes and displays one of state's largest selections of West Virginia-based book titles, will host a special author booksigning event where the store recognizes the regional literary arts and focuses on bestselling writers in the state.

According to Bill Clements, CEO of West Virginia Book Company, personalized books about West Virginia and the Appalachian region make excellent stocking stuffers. "This is a golden opportunity to have some of the bestselling books in the state personally autographed by their authors and editors," he added. "We've found that many West Virginians enjoy and collect books about the Mountain State—making regional titles a perfect gift-giving idea."

The upcoming signing will be held on Sat., Sat., Dec. 10, at the Barboursville Drug Emporium location. State writers scheduled to appear will be 2009 Bram Stoker Award-winning editor and novelist Michael Knost, along with author and publisher F. Keith Davis. Besides greeting the public, the two will also be personalizing copies of their respective titles.

Books being featured during the event will include The Legends of the Mountain State series (Knost ); Specters in Coal Dust (Knost); Dark Tales of Terror (Knost); Appalachian Winter Hauntings (Knost); The Secret Life and Brutal Death of Mamie Thurman (Davis); The Feuding Hatfield and McCoys (Davis); West Virginia Tough Boys (Davis), and others.
