Huntington area book launch to take place at Drug Emporium Saturday

Shadows and Mountains

BARBOURSVILLE, W.Va. - This weekend Drug Emporium will host a Huntington area book release gathering at their Barboursville store this Sat., Nov. 5, from 2 - 5 p.m. Mountain State authors Jessie Grayson and Ellen Thompson McCloud will be on hand for the launch of "Shadows and Mountains: Fireside Stories from the Dark Heart of Appalachia," and will greet the public and sign copies of their books.

"Our goal was to weave together several spooky tales from the region—chilling tales that promise to leave you staring into the wilderness, wondering what might be staring back," said Ellen Thompson McCloud, who added she is especially excited about the public's positive response to her first book, which was co-authored with Jessie Grayson.

Joining McCloud and Grayson for the afternoon will be noted regional author Frank Larnerd, contributing writer in the popular volume, “Mountain Magic: Spellbinding Tales of Appalachia." Larnerd is also the recent winner of West Virginia State University's 24th Annual Essay Contest.
