State book publisher counts down the hours to the Book Festival

Legends of the Mountain State 3
UFOs are real!

CHARLESTON, W.Va - Woodland Press, an in-state book publisher, is preparing for the WV Book Festival, to take place this Sat., Oct. 10 and Sun., Oct. 11, at Charleston Civic Center.

The independent book publishing firm, from Chapmanville, WV, will release two new titles at the state's largest book fair. The books include Legends of the Mountain State 3, edited by Michael Knost; and Appalachian Case Study: UFO Sightings, Alien Encounters & Unexplained Phenomena Vol. 2, by Kyle Lovern.

"We're excited about Legends of the Mountain State 3. Besides being pleased to have Knost onboard for this third installment, former NASA engineer and beloved American author Homer Hickam has written the foreword," said F. Keith Davis, CEO of Woodland Press. "Again, a dream-team of nationally-known writers have been assembled for this anthology that focuses on state ghost tales and folklore. It's great to see many of the biggest names in speculative fiction involved in a series that heavily promotes the Mountain State."

Appalachian Case Study: UFO Sightings, Alien Encounters & Unexplained Phenomena Vol. 2 focuses on UFO sightings and strange phenomena in Appalachia. The author Kyle Lovern's first book, released last year, was a regional bestseller and took readers on an amazing journey of exploration through the eyes of many down-to-earth people who told about their UFO and abduction experiences. "Although the first book focused solely on our state, his new project expands into the larger Appalachian mountain region, where many people from West Virginia and neighboring states have experienced some awfully unusual events they cannot fully explain," Davis added. "The stories are absolutely fascinating!"

Michael Knost and Kyle Lovern will be signing special copies of their books on Sat. afternoon, at the West Virginia Book Company booth. Knost will also be a guest speaker on Sat., at 4:00 p.m., at Parlor B, at the Civic Center. He will talk about the Legends of the Mountain State series.

The WV Book Festival is sponsored by BrickStreet and the WV Library Commission. Charter presenters include the WV Humanities Council, The Charleston Gazette, The Charleston Daily Mail, Kanawha County Public Library, and the Library Foundation of Kanawha County, Inc.
